Civil War Military Briefing

Civil War Project
In your assigned group you will be given a battle and asked to research it from the Union side of the War or Confederate side of the war. You will use google slides to create your presentation. **Make sure you share your presentation with both your partner and me (pthomas@philasd.org) . Look in particular for the following information:

· Who were the Commanders?
· Where was the battle?
· Is there a different name for the battle?
· When was the battle?
· Why was the battle at that location? What was the importance of this location.
· What happened?
· Who were the soldiers fighting (infantry, cavalry, navy, etc.) What units were they from?
· Did any African American soldiers fight in the battle? Any women?
· Who won the battle?
· What was the battles significance to the war?
· What interesting facts can you find about the battle?

Once you have this information you will present it to the class, but please be sure to include all of the above information. ALL OF THIS INFORMATION AND USEFUL LINKS CAN BE FOUND AT:

How will you be graded? You will be graded three fold for this project: your actual assignment and presentation, how well you work in class with your partner as well as a short answer test based on your fellow classmates’ projects. PLEASE TAKE NOTES ON YOUR CLASSMATES’ PROJECTS, YOU MAY USE THEM ON THIS TEST.
